Life of David Bible Study Workbook
Harris Creek Baptist Church – Waco, TX
When Harris Creek Baptist Church set out to create a 7-week Bible study through the life of David, they wanted more than a handout. They wanted a resource that felt intentional. Cohesive. Worth keeping.
We partnered with their team to design a custom, spiral-bound workbook that would guide both male and female participants week by week through David’s story – from shepherd to king – while creating space for reflection, notes and personal application.
The Goal
The church needed a workbook that:
Supported both teaching and personal study
Felt elevated and timeless, not trendy
Reflected the tone and values of Harris Creek
Was practical for weekly use
This study would move through complex themes – courage, failure, repentance, leadership, identity, worship – and the design needed to honor that weight without becoming visually heavy.
The Approach
We created a clean, modern cover design with a restrained color palette and strong typography to anchor the title: The Life of David. The layout is structured and uncluttered, allowing the content to breathe while keeping readers focused.
Inside, each weekly section was carefully organized with:
Clear scripture references
Guided prompts
Thoughtful discussion questions
Margin space for notes and reflection
Consistent visual cues for navigation
The spiral binding made it functional for real-life use – easy to lay flat during study, journaling, or group discussion.
The Result
The final workbook is something participants can return to long after the study ends. It feels substantial. Designed. Intentional.
Projects like this are a reminder that design isn’t just aesthetic – it shapes how people engage with content. In this case, it supports deeper study, reflection and community.
We’re grateful to have partnered with Harris Creek Baptist Church on a resource that will serve their congregation well beyond these seven weeks.
